HISTORY OF THE FIRM
HERBERT A. VOGEL started practicing law in
1960, primarily in the general litigation field with a leading Passaic
County law firm. In 1965 he started his own practice in Morristown by
representing a number of municipal entities as well as private clients,
particularly in land use, real estate and municipal law matters. Mr. Vogel has retired from the practice of law.
ARNOLD H. CHAIT started practicing law in Morristown
in 1965, first as an associate and later as a partner with Bertram J.
Polow, now a retired Judge of the Appellate Division of the Superior
Court. When Judge Polow assumed a full-time judicial position in May
of 1969, Mr. Vogel and Mr. Chait joined their practices and formed the
law firm that is now Vogel, Chait, Collins, and Schneider.
THOMAS F. COLLINS, JR. joined the law firm in
September 1980, after serving for one year in the dual capacity of Special
Assistant U.S. Attorney/Deputy Attorney General of New Jersey. Mr. Collins
became a member of the firm in 1983.
RICHARD L. SCHNEIDER joined the firm in August
1990 as an associate. He previously was associated with a general practice
law firm in Morris County. Mr. Schneider became a member of the firm
in 1993.
DAVID H. SOLOWAY joined the firm in May 1988
as an associate after spending six years as an associate and principal
in a general practice firm in Somerset County. Previously he served
as Law Secretary to the Hon. Arthur S. Meredith, Judge of the Superior
Court, Law Division. Mr. Soloway became a member of the firm on January
1, 2001.
THOMAS J. MOLICA, JR. joined the firm as an
associate in September, 2000. He previously served as law clerk to the
Honorable Reginald Stanton, former Assignment Judge of the Superior Court of
New Jersey, Morris/Sussex vicinage.
