INDIVIDUAL PROFILE

ARNOLD H. CHAIT, born Newark, New Jersey, March 7, 1939. Education: Rutgers University (B.A. 1961); New York University School of Law (LL.B. 1964). Admitted as a Member of the New Jersey Bar in 1965; admitted to the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1981; admitted to Bar of the United States Supreme Court in 1970.

Mr. Chait is recognized for his special expertise in the fields of higher education and school law, public construction projects, public sector labor relations, corporate law, professional practices, media law, and land use and development matters. He has extensive experience handling substantial stock and asset acquisition transactions, commercial and residential real estate transactions, as well as in drafting wills and trusts and in estate and trust administration.

Mr. Chait presently serves as the attorney for the County College of Morris, the Rabbinical College of America, New Jersey Council of County Colleges, Special Construction Counsel for the Metuchen Board of Education, Tomlinson Enterprises, and New Jersey Monthly Magazine. He previously served as the attorney for boards of education in Randolph Township, Mt. Olive Township, Town of Boonton, School District of the Chathams, and Morris Township. He also served as attorney for the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Adjustment.

Mr. Chait is a member of the Morris County and New Jersey State Bar Associations, the Association of County College Attorneys, the Higher Education Committee of the State Bar Association, and the New Jersey Association of School Board Attorneys. Mr. Chait is also a member of the Boards of Trustees of The Rabbinical College of America. Mr. Chait previously served on the New Jersey Supreme Court District X Ethics Committee and as a trustee of the New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network.

Mr. Chait was the recipient of the Morris County Bar Association Lifetime Achievement Award in Recognition of his significant contributions to the legal profession and his demonstrated outstanding legal skills and community leadership.
